A major character has to come somehow out of the unconscious.

The moment comes when a character does or says something you hadn't thought about. At that moment he's alive and you leave it to him.

It's just we've found a way to somehow do it to ourselves. And we've got to figure out a way to get over that.

We had it in bits and pieces, but it was hard for me to justify – that I wouldn't try harder, that I wouldn't reach out more, that I could stand to be away from her for that long.
