A record is nothing if not shared. I'm proud of the record but I'm even more proud to be working with the best team in the world.

It's not a record that we should be proud of, (it's) a record we should start fixing.

I'm in the record book. That's not something you're proud of, so I think that's something we worked on from that standpoint, and (we) put a lot of stress into that as far as prioritizing that particular area. That's why we improved the last couple of years.

If the record company won't let you put a record out, then you've nothing to promote, and they're not going to help you out with the tour budget if you've nothing to promote. So basically we were kind of trapped. And all the songs we would have written would have been owned by Mercury until they released us. So what do you do? It's kind of like a prison sentence. You are at their beck and call a little.

When I was out there I was never ever alone, there was always a team of people behind me, in mind if not in body.
