A static hero is a public liability. Progress grows out of motion.

Do not confuse motion and progress. A rocking horse keeps moving, but does not make any progress.

Give wind and tide a chance to change.

Few men during their lifetime comes anywhere near exhausting the resources dwelling within them. There are deep wells of strength that are never used.

Our problem isn't that we're individualists. It's that our individualism is static rather than dynamic. We value what we think rather than what we do. We forget that we haven't done, or been, what we thought; that the first function of life is action, just as the first property of things is motion.

If being a hero was easy, there would be more of them.
