After the tour to Pakistan, we just thought we'll take some time off and spend it here. I had hoped to spend the off-season (winters) here. But then I got in with a serious chance to play for England and my assignments with the 'A' team didn't allow me the chance to play here.

It was a good wicket for the two days we played. We were fortunate enough to win the toss and post a challenging total.

Have & Have Not

It is exciting to write about the present once one gets beyond the trivia of the moment. As a time to live in, as a time to think about, the present is intriguing.

I trained in medicine in India, and after that, I chose psychiatry as my specialty, much to the dismay of my mother and all my family members who kind of thought neurosurgery would be a more respectable option for their brilliant son.

When I realised that I had feelings for men as well as women, at first I was worried and frightened, and there was a certain amount of 'Who am I? Am I a criminal?' and so on. It took me a long time to come to terms with myself. Those were painful years - painful then and painful to look back on.
