All I can say is I'm proud of my team. It was a collective team effort the whole year. We have 10 guys and, out of our core, on any given night we could have six or seven different leading scorers.

We were in a bonus and we couldn't make any free throws. Free throws were the problem. I'll bet we didn't shoot 50 percent from the free-throw line.

John Cleese was with a group called Cambridge Circus, who had come to New York, and we became friends. Years later that produced a certain team effort.

Steve got us going early with the blocked shots on [Dwayne] Curtis. That gave us a run and gave us some transition points. We had a lot of energy and we controlled the tempo throughout the game.

Coach Heath addressed that whole thing how Alabama and LSU beat them up inside. He did mention that during halftime, and the players started to recognize that, that each of the post players had somebody little. We just abused them.

I've told (his son) that he doesn't owe me anything in his choice of schools, but he owes it to himself to give this school a look.
