All of the public defenders statewide are feeling the pressure of increased workload and lack of resources.

Like the state attorney's office, we're trying to get more resources, more money to pay our people and keep turnaround down and try to do what we're supposed to do.

We handle roughly 12,000-15,000 cases a year and when we have four or five capital-murder cases, it puts a lot of pressure on staff in the office.

I got a small part as the fiancee who comes on in the end. I got laughs. I wasn't shy at all doing the part. I can do anything on stage and write it off as a character.

I've been directed by other actors, and being an actor doesn't make you a good director.
