All the coaches in the 32 schools in the district will meet next week to determine the individual athletes that will qualify for the championships. The top 16 records in each weight class will qualify.

The athletes and visitors will be taking up virtually every hotel room in the county. It will probably mean hundreds of thousands of dollars for the area. It is going to be a huge weekend for business and tourism.

Aerials under the lights will be a little more unpredictable. Safety's always the primary consideration, but I think the athletes are anxious to get through it.

I think there's been even more state championships won by the private schools using (former) public school student-athletes,

That's not happening, I can assure you. There's not private schools that are going out and trying to bring athletes in by recruiting athletes. That is not happening. Maybe the programs attract athletes. Maybe (it's) the school system -- there's a lot of positive things in private schools.

Each of the five bowl games features great teams, proud schools and exciting student athletes. Mr. Gibson and his sons are the envy of every single college football fan in America.
