And the king said unto Ziba, What meanest thou by these? And Ziba said, The asses be for the king's household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as be faint in the wilderness may drink.

And he said, What meanest thou by all this drove which I met? And he said, These are to find grace in the sight of my lord.

And the king said, Enquire thou whose son the stripling is.

And Bathsheba bowed, and did obeisance unto the king. And the king said, What wouldest thou? / And she said unto him, My lord, thou swarest by the LORD thy God unto thine handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne.

Then said Joab to Cushi, Go tell the king what thou hast seen. And Cushi bowed himself unto Joab, and ran.

Is this thing done by my lord the king, and thou hast not shewed it unto thy servant, who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him? / Then king David answered and said, Call me Bathsheba. And she came into the king's presence, and stood before the king.
