Any idiot who looks at a map knows you can't build bridges to every single island in Southeast. These are huge distances ... so we need roads and ferries both.

I like to build bridges... not walls.

They're all part of the same tribe, the guys who build bridges and the guys who take them apart. It's a calling, a lifestyle they've signed onto. At the end of the day, they know they've done a good day's work.

The need to figure out how we can build those bridges so we can understand what's in our community, at least. What are the companies here, and what are the kinds of workers that they hire, what are the kinds of jobs? These are living-wage jobs, not just service-oriented jobs.

We build too many walls and not enough bridges.

I can build many roads and bridges, but if I don't build a road or bridge for the future of our children, they will go nowhere.
