As a destination resort, you must always search for ways to exceed your guests' expectations. We felt it was not enough to simply limit the number of smoking rooms, or designate smoking areas. We believe the best experience for our guests is a luxury resort that is completely smoke-free.

As a prediction, I see Myrtle Beach starting an upward turn in perception, quality of vacations, and number of visitors. Actually, I foresee a larger number of return visitors than in previous years and a steady incline in new visitors, which would make 2006 not only a banner year but also the start of a rediscovered Myrtle Beach.

If this happens, then the whole purpose of the A-tax . is basically moot. The system was designed to increase the tax base by driving tourism.

They said they were a for-profit organization, and you can't make a profit using accommodations taxes.

Guests who stay at the Hilton are paying premium dollars for a safe, secure, well-run hotel, and they deserve to have that. I don't know what's worse, all the Hilton violations or the way they keep covering them up.

We had guests here, so it was something of an inconvenience.
