Violence is not a respecter of persons and, just like everyone has human rights, every human can have their rights infringed upon. Every human has a right to be respected.

Violence against women in all its forms is a human rights violation. It's not something that any culture, religion or tradition propagates.

Women have a lot to say about how to advance women's rights, and governments need to learn from that, listen to the movement and respond.
