As a kid, I said, 'I want to write for movies.' When I finally had that opportunity it was like I was able to exhale. 'Wow, I'm finally doing this for real.'

When I watch movies with my kid like 'Shrek,' I'm like, 'Wow, this is pretty funny.' That's why I wanted to start doing movies like that - so my kid would laugh at my jokes.

And it was then that I realized wow, I'm able to write lyrics and sing and stuff like that.

Every once in awhile we may fall on our face, but we insist on doing what we wanna do.

It would have been like 'Wow!' ... I've always wanted to see this place on a night like that.

I said that I like to write on trains and that I wished Amtrak had residencies for writers.
