As a longtime follower of our state university system, we're always behind the curve. We always react to problems. We don't look to solve those problems before they occur.

They are well behind the curve at the moment.

They were having some problems there, and sometimes when you are having problems in a curve, it makes you second-guess yourself. In this sport, you have to just do it. You can't be second-guessing yourself at all.

What we see from our state university system is no growth. It has remained static over time.

In essence, it's not so much what Penn State does, but it's how we're going to react to them. If we swing at good pitches, then we should be successful.

A public university is part of the state system and dependent on not only the governor to appoint our boards and the General Assembly to approve them, but we are also dependent on the General Assembly and the governor for the budget every year.
