As long as our players focus, I feel that we ought to be competitive come tournament time. In addition, I feel that our record could very well merit us a berth in the Virginia State Independent Schools Playoffs. If so, it would be the first time that we qualified for the VIS.

As the season goes on we're going to continue to get better.

That was a match in which nothing went right for us.

We've got a pretty balanced team this season.

I've been involved with O'Connell tennis since the mid-80s. I've also been involved in coaching a number of sports in Northern Virginia since the 1960s. I guess you could say that I'm a kid that hasn't grown up.

I've been switching doubles No. 2 and No. 3 somewhat around to try to see who matches up well with whom. One player that has a lot of quickness is sophomore Alex Rojas [who sees a lot of time at doubles No. 2]. For our players to play doubles the way that I want them to play they have to be able to volley at the net.
