As principals, we often share the belief with parents that education for their children is a journey and not a race. I am very proud of all those former students who have become successful or happy with their lives.

My parents placed a high priority on education of their children, as their whole
generation has, ... They saw the value of the opportunity that it presented to
my generation.

It's not the education; it's the social issues in the schools. The children are troubled there. The parents are troubled. There's no cure in sight.

Parents should conduct their arguments in quiet, respectful tones, but in a foreign language. You'd be surprised what an inducement that is to the education of children.

The vast majority of parents work hard at making sure (their children) get an education. There are some people who aren't as responsible about it.

We see our clientele as people from the Des Moines area who want a quick getaway, travelers passing through and also the occasional business traveler. We hope we can make them comfortable in our wonderful little town.
