Constancy... that small change of love, which people exact so rigidly, receive in such counterfeit coin, and repay in baser metal.

I have great hopes that we shall love each other all our lives as much as if we had never married at all.

There is something to me very softening in the presence of a woman, some strange influence, even if one is not in love with them, which I cannot at all account for, having no very high opinion of the sex.
