At that point, when you're tied, you need to load the bases to set up a force play. I'd do the same thing every single time.

You can't steal first base. The guys have to understand their roles. If they buy into that we'll be fine. The kids have done everything we've asked so far. That's half the battle.

We've got some kids back. We're a little inconsistent offensively. One day, we hit the crud out of the ball. The next day, we can't make contact. If we hit the ball, we'll compete. We hope to improve on last year's record and make the state tournament.

I'll put our outfield up against anybody's. We'll track down just about anything.

It definitely did. Our guards tried to force some passes that weren't there. Our guard play has got to improve because we didn't play with much poise when we needed to.

Sometimes you have to go toe-to-toe with them, they force you to play fast. It was just kind of like a heavyweight fight and we couldn't really slow them down, whoever gets that 15th-round punch is going to win.
