At that time, flying the American flag above the rubble of homes and businesses was a visible act of determination and became the symbol for our community's recovery, ... That same phenomenon is occurring after Katrina.

We need to make sure that we fix it this time, because what if that had been an act of terrorism? ... This clearly exposes us to vulnerabilities if there was an act of terror. So if there's any upside to this terrible tragedy, maybe it'll motivate us to fix the problem.

It's big. This time of year, everybody is beat up, everybody is sore. You want to get that adrenaline flowing. Nothing gets that done like a home crowd.

Any time a team gets the ball with a turnover and comes on your side of the field, it's a chance to be great, ... It's a chance to step up. And we did that. We have a lot of guys with a lot of heart and we kept fighting.

Time is flying, never to return

Locating villages is difficult for helicopter pilots. Adding an extra hour of flying time in the search for a landing zone is straining airframes.
