Back a hundred years ago, especially around Woodrow Wilson, what happened in this country is we took freedom and we chopped it into pieces.

I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by it's system of credit...[] We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated Governments in the civilized world, NO longer a Government by free opinion, NO longer a Government of conviction and vote of the majority, but, a Government by opinion and the duress of a small group of dominant men.

Just think of what Woodrow Wilson stood for: he stood for world government. He wanted an early United Nations, League of Nations. But it was the conservatives, Republicans, that stood up against him.

I read my first book on Woodrow Wilson at age 15, and I was hooked.

It's been the same story ever since I can remember, ever since Wilson – the Republicans don't do a thing for the little man.

Few American presidents have been unhappier or lonelier in office than Woodrow Wilson.
