Based on past procedure the transition will take 10 days to two weeks.

Mr. Harper will receive a copy of the report when the (Liberal) government gets it.

There may be more working its way through the system.

Important meetings take place between the Clerk and whichever government wins to go over the priorities of government, how the government is set up, where the bathroom is, things like that. It obviously changes whether there's an incumbent government or a new government, but those kinds of things continue to happen regardless.

The clerk and the privy council definitely play a central role in ensuring continuity of government through a transition.

I'm not aware of anyone else doing anything like this.
