Being down here for the fourth year really helped me... the experience of going though it before. I let my nerves get to me last year. I was nervous this year, but it was a lot more under control.

I didn't expect it. I was kind of clueless. It was a big surprise to make it to state as a freshman. Once I did it, I continued to build on that to make it every year.

My fondest memories aren't necessarily the swimming part, they are the friendships with the team, the bus rides, the pasta dinners. Since my freshman year, the girls I swam with have been my best friends. They have been there to motivate me.

It's such a thrill. I'm so proud of my team…. The whole experience is just a blur.

Writing a memoir is such a private, personal experience that it's intimidating to think of adapting it for television.
