Biographical history, as taught in our public schools, is still largely a history of boneheads: ridiculous kings and queens, paranoid political leaders, compulsive voyagers, ignorant generals - the flotsam and jetsam of historical currents. The men who radically altered history, the great scientists and mathematicians, are seldom mentioned, if at all.

This is an attempt to religiously sterilize the teaching of history in our schools.

Both ... served our schools for many years. Both were role models for our youths and well liked by our community.

The city was looking at other places besides schools -- spots where children are likely to be present. You can't make a law that lessens the effect of a state law, but you can make it more strict.

They've never justified the need for this extra platform. The priority is the commercial, and then the history is secondary.
