Brad Smith almost died [Wednesday] night. His kidneys were going into failure. His pancreas is not even working.

He was never in trouble.

We didn't know he had another case at the same time when Brad got sick. People don't know that Brad came within a half an hour of dying. [Doctors] are putting a monitor on his pancreas because it isn't working. This thing was a shock to everybody. You know he is the big healthy jock. You just don't expect him to suddenly get ill.

My health is good. I am in great shape.

It kind of shocked all of us. This is unbelievable.

To go to bed at night in Madrid marks you as a little queer. For a long time your friends will be a little uncomfortable about it. Nobody goes to bed in Madrid until they have killed the night. Appointments with a friend are habitually made for after midnight at the cafe.
