Cause and effect, means and ends, seed and fruit cannot be severed; for the effect already blooms in the cause, the end preexists in the means, the fruit in the seed

The challenge is in identifying the cause. The effect identifies itself.

Bad results are the symptoms not the causes.

Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect.

Shallow men believe in luck, believe in circumstances: it was somebody's name, or he happened to be there at right time, or it was so then, and another day it would have been otherwise. Strong men believe in cause and effect.

In every action we must look beyond the action at our past, present and future state, and at others whom it affects, and see the relations of all these things.
