Chazz was one of the guys who had a story for every situation. He was the greatest storyteller.

He's one of the greatest guys I ever knew. It's a sad, sad story. He always saw his glass as overflowing. He just kept screwing things up.

We were planning a big celebration over at the Hyatt (Regency in Monterey) and I thought what a nice way to celebrate it.

Over in France, people knew Chazz. Over here, you're a musician. Over there, you're an artiste.

I don't want to be called 'the greatest' or 'one of the greatest'; let other guys claim to be the best. I just want to be known as a clown because to me that's the height of my profession. It means you can do everything-sing, dance, and above all, make people laugh.
