College was for people who didn’t know they were smart.

I think there ought to be some serious discussion by smart people, really smart people, about whether or not proliferation of things like The Smoking Gun and TMZ and YouTube and the whole celebrity culture is healthy.

We like to think about how smart we are. But I think talent as a writer is hard-wired in, it's all there, at least the basic elements of it. You can't change it any more than you can choose whether to be right handed or left handed.

The best part about being a genius is that you only have to prove it once on the IQ test. After that, you can just carry on like a complete idiot, and repeatedly exclaim "genius!" in obnoxious voices.

It's a little different because in junior college, we played in a wood-bat league. So playing with metal here, it's going to be a change. But I'll just have to adjust to how the hitters are. The metal-bat game is obviously a lot different in the way you approach hitters.

The lessons students need to learn are very similar to the issues faced by adults. The difference is college students are experiencing them for the first time.
