Coming off the day I had, I was just trying to relax and not do too much. With guys like (Josh) Rodriguez and (Joe) Savery hitting behind me, it's really hard to pitch around me.

It's been a long day -- this is how we relax.

It hasn't quite really sunk in. But right now it feels good, and I'm trying to relax and catch my breath and take it in. We still have a lot of work to do, but getting the first definitely is awesome.

When you go in facing Texas and Texas Tech, [which] are always up there in the baseball polls, they're going to be ready. It's a Rice-Texas game. It's always a shootout.

This [was] only my second game, so obviously I'm still a little nervous playing in front of the home crowd trying to represent [my] school. After the first at-bat in the Central Missouri game, I kind of calmed down.

You can make a four-day shift in one night.
