Confronting Chronic Neglect: The Education and Training of Health Professionals on Family Violence.

Everybody can talk about family members who have mental health problems, and there is rarely a family you can find that hasn't experienced mental illness.

Traditional thinking dictates that most women, children and other vulnerable groups within the family accept physical and emotional violence as a normal part of life. It is not normal. It is a matter of power and a lack of accountability. This Family Response Unit should become a symbol of hope in the community.

Education is a vacine for violence.

My impression is that allowing an expanded role for the market in education and health care is off the table. Rural land ownership is also too sensitive to consider now.

They have a unique agenda, which is all about health care, education and economic issues. They are very interesting because they can be motivated to vote -- they have a strong sense of civic responsibility. So the door is open to candidates who would make it worthwhile for them.
