Corona came out and played real well tonight. But I was happy that our kids fought and got back in the game. We'll build from this.

They're kids. They had a week or so of just hanging out and bumming around a bit. We just weren't focused, but good teams can overcome that, and they did.

I've been telling the kids all along we were the best 4-5 team in the state. We're as good as anybody in Class D. We went in No. 1 last year and have a lot of veterans back, but we just weren't closing out games until tonight.

This definitely was a nice atmosphere, but I told my wife and our kids that it's hard for me to get overly excited about a Jan. 10th game. I don't want to say this game is meaningless because it definitely isn't. But it is what it is. It's Jan. 10th and no championships are won or lost on Jan. 10.

We gave up a big touchdown in the second half, uncontested almost. From that, our kids could have folded up but we came back and played hard.

We told the kids that you have to enjoy wins like this. We waited so long to beat Fort Frye that you can't take these wins for granted.
