(Cruse) was only going to go two or three innings at best, and obviously it wasn't a good outing for him, so we went ahead and sat him down.

I was just hoping for three or four good innings from him. We were eager to see what he could do as a starter. He did a great job.

Rem really looked good. This is his best outing by far. ... That was real impressive.

We didn't know we could get three innings out of him. We sent him out there to get two. But he did so well and had such a low pitch count we sent him back for the third inning.

Obviously, it was good for me to not have a high pitch count those two innings, but I really needed to throw, ... Garner knows at this point in the season I'm available to do whatever he needs. Because our setup guys have done such a great job this year, I haven't had to throw the eighth inning at all, and that's really spared me to this point.

He's pitched well every outing. The last two have been exceptionally well pitched. But he's been good every outing. It's good to be able to win one when he's pitched well.
