Democrats say Republican wins (statewide) have been a fluke. Republicans say it's a trend. We will have to see in November. It could be a trend if Republicans win again.

The Democrats will take this as a moral victory in a heavily Republican district. In June, the Republicans will have an advantage in a head-to-head election, especially with the turnout likely to be higher because of the state primary.
