Living in "unconscious" denial is not a very successful coping strategy except where it prevents someone from succumbing to grief or misery which can be worse in the short term. However, the human capacity for denial is a survival trait which has allowed humans to survive under the most adverse of circumstances. Use your delusion as necessary. Learn to harness the power of denial and you can survive almost anything. Just be aware that it is what it is, and cannot be maintained forever.
