Dog parks are a great way to give dogs a little exercise and meet other people. But it's important to have someone watching the dogs so if there's an aggressive dog they can kick them out.

We are getting a renaissance downtown. We've got designer restaurants and designer dogs, and (people) would like to have a designer cup of coffee with their designer dog.

We'd love to have people come by on a regular basis. If you want to spend time with our dogs and cats, just come in and say, 'I'm here.' We also have a volunteer orientation program where we train volunteers to help clean cages and help with customer service.

All kinds of wildlife carry the crazy thing, ... We routinely vaccinate dogs, cattle and swine for it.

You'll see dogs here of all shapes and sizes. As long as they're on a lead and have been vaccinated, they're certainly welcome. In fact, we encourage it.

That's one of the reasons why we exercise. Anything can happen. And if nothing else, it tests our response to a real life situation,
