Don't make assumptions about whether or not you're eligible; call and apply by January 31. We want to make sure every Floridian has had the opportunity to apply for and receive the assistance for which he or she is eligible.

Money is available to but people are not applying. We urge people who are eligible to apply now and those who are not to make payment arrangements.

For individuals who have already applied, their cases will continue to be processed. We want people to understand that Thursday, January 5th, is merely the end of the application period, which started October 24th when President Bush issued a major disaster declaration.
