Durham is a great place to live. I need to hear it more than when I call the city office.

I get a sense that you're really listening and hearing, and I commend you on that.

I feel safe. But that's not what this paper and chart are telling me the rest of the community does.

Oh, sweet. I'm glad that we do have a new quarterback. I'm sure he'll fit right in with what we're trying to get done here. I'm sure the coaches are excited. From what I've seen of him play, he's done some great things. He's very athletic, a mobile quarterback and very intelligent, too. He's a great fit for us, and we're happy to have him.

He's done the things that a lot of us are trying to get done. He's been there. He knows what it takes. He knows the price you have to pay. We need that as a team. We just want to follow that example and get back to where we were in 2002.

When I first got to the Raiders, I was like, 'Wow! This is Jerry Rice.' And he came to shake my hand. It just shows what type of person he is. He's down to earth -- a great person and a great player.
