Early-termination fees equal lower monthly wireless rates. The suggestion that we should have a model whereby people can cancel and walk away with a free phone is just untenable.

Without the early-termination clause, people would be gaming the system. People would walk away with a $500 phone for virtually nothing. An early-termination fee allows the wireless provider to recoup the costs of giving a phone to a consumer for a steep discount. Without it, you simply have an economic model that doesn't work.

We very much believe that laws are being broken and people are profiting from it. Without prosecution there will continue to be this fraud and subscribers and wireless companies will continue to be the victims.

We have serious concerns about how far this bill goes into issues completely unrelated to the illicit behavior Congress is attempting to stop.

This device has changed the way we live for the better — certainly for emergencies. We encourage wireless users to respect others' space.

This is impersonation. These companies are engaged in an illegal activity. They're profiting from it, and they need to be prosecuted.
