Emotional scars run deeper than the Nile
and often lie lurking behind a smile.

The best people all have some kind of scar.

The pain behind these eyes run deep, I shelter it & keep it within; for these are the scars of my life, not defacing the skin-Elder

The marks humans leave are too often scars.

Do not trust a person without scars. If they have no scars, then it means someone else is wearing theirs, usually unfairly, and usually permanently.

Other times, I look at my scars and see something else: a girl who was trying to cope with something horrible that she should never have had to live through at all. My scars show pain and suffering, but they also show my will to survive. They're part of my history that'll always be there.
