Energy cooperation is a key area of economic cooperation among SCO member states. The working group on energy issue will compose of experts in related areas from the six member states.

Absorbing new member states needs a legal basis, yet the SCO has no rules concerning the issue. Therefore some western countries have no need to worry about whether India, Iran or other countries would become new members.

We will convey Pakistan's wish to become a full member of the SCO to every member country.

We attach particular importance to the interaction between Pakistan, an observer country for now, and the SCO.

Our cooperation has been smooth.

I believe prospects for our energy cooperation are very bright indeed. It is only natural that a powerful, dynamically developing country like China is showing an interest in Russia's energy sector, while [Russian] companies are undoubtedly interested in the huge Chinese market, which offers plenty of room for teamwork.
