Essentially, they've made no new proposals since the last strike. We were hoping to withdraw this week's (strike) notice, if we had made some significant progress.

It's not an apples-to-apples comparison. Yes, there are less expensive plans, but they don't offer comparable coverage to the union's plan.

Many teenagers are supplementing the family income. Connecticut has a high standard of living, and people need more money to live on.

Every indication that they've given us formally or informally is that they don't plan to make any improvements to their proposals.

We're going to withdraw both of those because all hands are needed on deck for the strike. It's a matter of resources and focus. Our resources are going to try to end the company's unfair labor practices.

The No. 1 thing we asked from the people in regards to the proposals was that they show us that they have the economical wherewithal and viability. We asked that they have a bank reference or a letter of credit indicating that they could cover the yearly operational expenses, which are up to $850,000.
