Eternity isn't before or later; it is now.

If there is anything that mortals and immortals share in common, it is that there is nothing of greater importance for both of them, than to live fully in the present moment.

One action is for now. One time is present. One action shall give up its seat for another. One time will phase into another.

You may dream of the future, or prepare for the future or even fear the future, but you may never enter it. Whatever you do, wherever you go, it will always be done right here and now within the present moment.

I think of grand design as a presently unfolding dynamism as opposed to a plan to be implemented at some point way off in the future.

The Expulsion from Paradise is eternal in its principal aspect: this makes it irrevocable, and our living in this world inevitable, but the eternal nature of the process has the effect that not only could we remain forever in Paradise, but that we are currently there, whether we know it or not.
