Every first visit isn't always the greatest, but eventually they realize that we're here to help them.

We try to break it up. Sometimes they can't handle it all in one sitting.

Parents can read it to them in advance so they will know what to expect.

We have learned to ask questions in ways to get responses and to use words they understand. We tell them what we are going to do before we do it.

There is a lot of focus on the visit and understandably so. China has shown last year that it will give into significant outside pressure. It wants to do as little as possible and escape a protectionist fall out.

I am often involved in individual housing cases when constituents ask for my help. This chance to visit officers and discuss key challenges has been very helpful in understanding more about what is involved for my constituents.
