Every year you suit up, you play for a championship. Some years, some teams... it was very few times I think I played on that realistically had a chance.

I think the world of Dave Griffin. I worked with him in Phoenix, got to know him very well, and consider him a friend.

Regardless of the obstacles or hurdles that are ahead of you, regardless of the opponent, regardless of the odds, your goal and objective always is to win. I think that's part of sports.

He played inside linebacker on the state championship team. He wants to win and he'll play wherever he needs to to help his team.

I think we are capable of defending that championship, but there are some very good teams to beat to do that. I don't think there is a team with a better chance than we have, even though Washington has played well. One of the biggest surprises is USC has really stepped up. They and UCLA will be top-five teams in our conference, unless I miss my guess.

I think the two best teams are playing in the Eastern Maine championship.
