Everyone could win the ‘war on drugs’ by giving a fair price to the Afghan poppy growers, get pharmaceutical heroin freely prescribed by GP’s to all heroin users. This would eliminate the need for street dealers, cut the bill of the soldiers burning the profitable crops, cut the bill of the prisons, and policing and maybe use the money saved to give every homeless person in the UK a clean nice studio flat to live in. Drug addiction should be a 100% health issue and not a criminal justice issue.
