Everyone is pulled in too many directions. Parents have multiple jobs, kids are involved in lots of activities.

To feel valued, to know, even if only once in a while, that you can do a job well is an absolutely marvelous feeling

When you're looking at someone at the lower end, you're sometimes looking at parents who are working two jobs, maybe three. Time is limited, and transportation. You can't just get up and drive your student across town to school.
