Everyone wants to be on a winning team,but no one wants to come to practice

During my 40-year coaching career at West Point, Indiana and Texas Tech, my teams reached the Final Four on five occasions, winning the national championship three times.

We just have to go back to practice and prepare. Defensively, we had some breakdowns tonight. We just have to go fix it and come mentally focused next time. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a big-time atmosphere in there with a lot of people. We just have to learn how to tune the crowd out and just play ball.

Winning a section title is a good thing. Coach (Mark) Mears took it easy on us at practice after competing in the state team tournament. It was a healing week, but we'll get back to work this week.

We always think we are starting every period 0-0 whether we are winning or losing. In practice this week, we are working on areas that need improvement and that includes just about everything.

Winning a game like that really pumps up the team. You could tell at practice last night, everyone was more motivated -- it's going to carry over into the next game.
