Fashion is very cyclical, and there's always been a huge demand for retro. It's nice to go back directly to the designer who was so in demand at that time, and ask them to create something new.

The response, so far, has been phenomenal, and we've booked really big quantities of the pieces.

The design team and I had been discussing how fantastic we thought Celia was. When her agent approached us about collaborating on a line, we leapt on it immediately.

It would be mortifying to the feelings of many ladies, could they be made to understand how little the heart of a man is affected by what is costly or new in their attire... Woman is fine for her own satisfaction alone. No man will admire her the more, no woman will like her the better for it. Neatness and fashion are enough for the former, and a something of shabbiness or impropriety will be most endearing to the latter.

This may mark the start of an upturn in exports, but it's too soon to be sure.
