Federal and provincial programs that benefit the city of Ottawa are financed by hard working, tax paying Canadians. Those tax dollars shouldn't be spent to support workers in other countries, when there are Canadians that can do the work.

Federal gas tax revenues that are paid into the trust fund by highway users should be used for programs that benefit highway users.

It's ironic that these rail cars could be assembled in the United States where a law exists that requires American content when U.S. federal tax dollars are used in a transit project.

We've communicated with both governments, federal and provincial, to let them know what we can, and we're searching through our members now to see what may be able to be freed up or made available from the production side, and I know the pipelines are doing the same.

Canadians want to elect good people to be their voice in Ottawa.
