Football is macho and tough and a lot of people feel the only way to get that is to be really authoritarian. That's why the vast majority of coaches adopt that style.

That's what young coaches see. That's why it is so great that [Carroll and Brown] are getting this exposure. People will see there is another way.

To me, [my size] is an advantage, ... People are intimidated, not just in football, but in every day life. Sometimes it's funny. You walk by people and they look up, and they'll wait until you get past them and they'll be like, 'Wow.' Some of them come up and and just say, 'Wow, you're big.' And I'm like, 'Yeah, I know.'

He's an outstanding football player, and people are going to come from miles around to see him next year.

I think the football coaches for Iowa and Iowa State would tell you they are some of the luckiest people in the world to have the job they have, ... Win, lose or draw, I'm sure they believe it's a great life. And that's how I feel about my job.

I'm excited whenever people talk about Danvers football.
