For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: / And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.

They shall fall in the midst of them that are slain by the sword: she is delivered to the sword: draw her and all her multitudes.

Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? / But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.

And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.

The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.

Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
