For the first time there are limits on the government money. All the cost overruns are on the teams. That's a cap. I call it taxpayer protection. After the three-eighths cent tax, everything else is on the team.

We are the landlord -- Jackson County, the voters of Jackson County. We're like any other landlord, we have to live up to our end of the bargain.

I said this time they should put their money where their mouth is to show the government you're serious.

We must take away the government's credit card. With limits on both tax revenue and borrowing, the Federal government would finally be forced to get serious about spending cuts.

We're hoping that some kind of limited liability agreement can be worked out with the government that limits the liability for Good Samaritans who take in these evacuees. We don't anticipate that there would be a lot of lawsuits out of that, based on the fact that people are voluntarily helping out, but that doesn't mean that still won't occur in some rare instances.

They do not want to see any government regulations or control because it limits the profitability. The free market is not doing anything to yield more affordable housing.
